Containing more than 84,000 entries and subentries, the award-winning Comprehensive English-Yiddish Dictionary is based on the work of renowned linguist Dr. Mordkhe Schaechter, who collected and researched spoken and literary Yiddish and reflects his vision for present-day and future Yiddish usage.
Weekly thematic lists of words by topic are posted to our social media and sent out to our email list. Initiated in 2013, several hundred of these thematic lists have appeared in the years since, on all sorts of topics: cuisine, politics, holidays, sports, clothing, animals, health and many others.
Our YouTube channel presents fascinating interviews in Yiddish about the Yiddish scene worldwide today. Whether you’re meeting a former Hasid, a lifelong Bundist, or a Yiddish linguist, it’s a great place to visit in order to hear personalities from many walks of life speak in Yiddish about current topics and about their own stories.
To support the needs of Yiddish students, we publish Yiddish textbooks and graded readers – all focused on correct grammar usage, the rich vocabulary of this language, and ease of conversation.
"Worlds Within a World: Conversations with Yiddish Writers" documents four prominent contemporary Yiddish writers discussing their captivating life and work. Each film is an interview, enhanced by photo stills and music, conducted entirely in Yiddish with English subtitles.
