Join our Yiddish Shmueskrayz on Zoom!
The League for Yiddish shmueskrayz will be led by Eli Benedict. We will begin with a discussion about Passover – memories of the seyder night, Passover foods and songs. Together we will read short texts, words, and expressions connected with the themes of Passover and freedom. Afterwards we will invite everyone to share something in Yiddish related to Passover: a memory of a seyder, a family custom, or anything else that connects you with the holiday.
Everyone will have the opportunity to speak and to shmooze in Yiddish in a warm, open, and friendly atmosphere.
This shmueskrayz is ideal for: – those who have taken at least one Yiddish course and want to strengthen their speaking skills, or – fluent / near-fluent speakers who want to meet others and enjoy a Yiddish conversation space.
